Amrit Lattimore, Lead Interior Designer at New i.d speaks about the Kilburn Quarter estate interior design and furnishings
Kilburn Quarter is a brand new development of apartments in North West London. The collection of 126 stylish homes situated in NW6 has easy access to both Maida Vale and Kilburn Park Underground Stations, that gives it great appeal for buyers looking for a more central London property. The Kilburn Quarter estate and has been called a neighbourhood renaissance, with the new development offering 1, 2, 3 & 4 bed apartments and duplexes; giving a modern interpretation of north west London’s grand mansion style.
New i.d Interiors were commissioned by Network Homes to interior design and fully furnish three show home apartments and the property’s marketing suite. The brief was to target different types of buyers that are searching the property market. As Network Homes has worked with New i.d several times previously there was no brief on the specific design elements, meaning they were trusted to select the colours, textures and accessories used and more.
Amrit Lattimore, lead interior designer at New i.d, decorated each apartment with a luxurious yet classic feel so as to have a wide appeal for all types of prospective buyers who were set to come in to view the show homes. Although there was a running classic theme across each apartment, Amrit individualised the one bedroom, two bedroom and three bedroom apartments to reflect the variation of styling possibilities available for the homes at Kilburn Quarter.
The open plan one bedroom apartment has been designed in a modern and contemporary style with the aim of capturing the young professional. The apartment features bespoke design elements, textured wallpaper and metallic accessories including on trend copper and metallic tones. Staying with the contemporary theme Amrit decided to add in some quirky geometric wallpaper with silver hints to the living room, and a smoked glass mirrored wall in the alcove to reflect and maximise the space, giving a distinct atmosphere. Other shades used in the one bedroom apartment included navy blue which was softened with pantone colours of the year 2016 ‘rose quartz’ and ‘serenity’.
In the two bedroom apartment the design was implemented practically for both comfort and luxury. New i.d Interiors included useful features such as ottomans in the bedrooms for extra storage whilst rose gold tones and high end accessories were used for that high end finishing touch. This apartment is aimed at the professional working couple so there was again a focus on having more modern and edgy components. Alongside the on- trend rose golds, Amrit also used natural stone finishes and antique glass to complete the look.
Show Home Apartment
A standout feature in the two bedroom show home apartment is the feature wall in the hallway. Amrit installed a wall clock display to add an artistic aspect to the apartment for that real wow factor.
At Kilburn Quarter the three bedroom apartment features a master bedroom and ensuite, and two other rooms which can be used as a guest bedroom and/or study. For this show apartment Amrit wanted to showcase a more opulent feel and used textures such as velvet, French linen and vinyl leather along with standout accessories. Targeting a small family, the design it slightly more classical than the other show apartments but still uses current design features such as metals and marble which are popular home design elements for this year.
New i.d were also commissioned to design the interior of the marketing suite. The New i.d team were aware of the colour scheme for the marketing materials and chose shades that would complement them to create a flow to bring everything together. The marketing suite features a stunning bronze mirrored wall and other luxurious components include embossed leathers, high gloss natural woods and a grand, show stopping rug with the Kilburn quarter logo.
