Persimmon Homes Essex has presented the 3rd Witham Scout and Guide Group with brand new headquarters situated adjacent to its latest development to launch, The Templars in Spring Lodge in Witham.
John Richardson, construction director for Persimmon Homes Essex, comments: “At Persimmon we are committed to building not just homes, but communities too, and I feel the new headquarters will provide a much needed addition to the town.”
The grand opening of the head quarters, which took place on 26th April, includes a new Scout and Guide hall with new kitchen, storage and toilet facilities and a car parking area.
As well as the several guides, scouts and cubs from the 3rd Witham Scout and Guide Group, the opening was attended by Witham Mayor and ex 3rd Witham Scout Paul Heath and Lord Lieutenant Petre, who is the president of Essex County Scouts Council and ambassador for Girl Guiding.
Chas Ingham, group scout leader for the 3rd Witham Scout and Guide Group, states: “Persimmon Homes has gone the extra mile in completing our new headquarters, which I believe will become a much loved and vital part of our Group and a real asset for the young people.”
Persimmon is not unusual in its behind-the-scenes support of local community initiatives, as John Richardson, explains: “We take our social responsibility in the areas within which we build very seriously.
Not only do we make financial contributions, but we also enjoy giving our time at a very local level. We are therefore delighted to be making a positive difference in Witham.”
The Templars will provide local residents with a choice of 85 homes including houses and apartments in a range of differing styles. If you would like to register your interest in the properties available please contact the sales office on 01376 518 811 during office hours.
