Persimmon has the power

With it being increasingly hard for first time buyers to secure the first rung on the property ladder due to the reported difficulties in obtaining a mortgage, Persimmon Homes Essex has developed an initiative which will not only help youngsters, but their parents too!

“With ‘Parent Power' we guarantee to match any sum a parent contributes to their child's apartment, up to five per cent of the purchase price,” says Neil Sykes, sales director at Persimmon Homes Essex. “Not only does this initiative help first time buyers in grasping onto a bit of independence, but also relieves parents who quite possibly would like to have their own space finally!”

Persimmon Homes Essex is offering the unique incentive on selected apartments at the company's Bloomsbury Mews development in Colchester.

“For many young first-time-buyers, finding the deposit for their first home is the biggest hurdle, so many are forced into renting which can be very costly. With Parent Power, we're joining forces with mums and dads to remove that barrier for them.

“The apartments we have on offer at the ever popular Bloomsbury Mews development in a sought-after area of Colchester are ideal first homes. They're all just minutes from the town centre and the train station and what's more we have a superb choice of one and two bedroom designs available with all the space, style and thoughtful design features that modern living demands.”

Parent Power is subject to appointing a Persimmon nominated financial adviser. Maximum contribution is 50 per cent of the deposit required subject to status, terms and conditions.

Prices at the development start from just £129,950 for a one bedroom apartment and with rental prices in the area averaging £650 per month, it could be cheaper to buy with Persimmon than rent.

All properties at Bloomsbury Mews are bespoke designs by architects Melville Dunbar and alongside this, a community centre, shops, crèche and surgery will all form part of the community when complete. The development also benefits from being in close proximity to the local train station, meaning London is jut a 50 minute commute.
