Sheffield based contractor and developer JF Finnegan has been appointed to the Homes and Communities Agency's new Delivery Partner Panel, as part of the Headcrown Group Plc's successful bid.
JF Finnegan and the other companies within the Headcrown Group Plc join the Northern Cluster of contractors, developers and house-builder consortia delivery partners which has been selected to act as a one-stop-shop to streamline development on publicly-owned land, thus speeding up housing development across the country.
In addition to working on the HCA's own projects, the framework pre-qualifies panel members such as JF Finnegan to work with Local Authorities, Regional Development Agencies and other public sector agencies to deliver new homes though programmes such as Local Authority New Build and Public Land Initiative. The panel will be operational with immediate effect until 3rd January 2012.
Chairman of JF Finnegan and Director of Headcrown Plc, Philip Ryan, said; “To have secured one of the select few places on the HCA's Delivery Partner Panel is a great accolade for both Headcrown Plc and JF Finnegan. The appointment crucially means that we are officially a preferred partner for the Government's regeneration and development work under the HCA banner.
“Headcrown's experienced team which includes North West house builder specialists, Cruden Group, have all worked successfully with the public sector for many years and we are confident in our ability to assist the HCA in its delivery of innovative homes in the north of the country.”
“The HCA plays an integral role in the continued provision of quality housing across the country and the housing land which it owns forms part of the much-needed future land supply. The establishment of the Delivery Partner Panel represents the Government's increased recognition of the regeneration expertise of commercial developers.”
Development, Design & Build Manager for J F Finnegan, Dawa Singh, who co-ordinated the submission and will act as Programme Manager for forthcoming projects said; “In order to be successfully placed on the panel we had to demonstrate a proven track record for regeneration development with Local Authorities, showing that we have the right experts with the right skills both within the JF Finnegan organisation and also in our supply chain partners to carry out projects varying from the redevelopment of brownfield sites to building new sustainable communities.
“To be selected alongside the region's major volume housebuilders is a major coup and we are looking forward to continuing our significant regeneration work across the region.”
Eamonn Boylan, Director of New Ventures and Partnerships & Deputy Chief Executive at the Homes and Communities Agency, said: “The Delivery Partner Panel will speed up development on publicly-owned land and make it possible for more homes to be delivered where they are in demand. We have worked with Headcrown in the past and look forward to more partnership working for the benefit of communities around the country.”
