Homeowners snap up carbon neutral homes

According to recent research by CABE (Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment) 87% of buyers want to know if their homes are eco-friendly and 84% would pay extra for a green home.

The green message is certainly being embraced at the Coppice Mews development by award-winning housebuilder Millwood Designer Homes. In less than a week of its release, two of the homes at this carbon neutral development have been sold off plan.

The select collection of just 2, one and two bedroom apartments and 4, three bedroom townhouses is situated on Forest Road in Royal Tunbridge Wells. Carbon emissions of the homes will be measured to assess their annual carbon footprint and Millwood will then buy carbon credits to offset these emissions.

Funds raised by the sale of carbon credits are used to support renewable energy and sustainable forestry offset projects.

Roseanne Bullen, Sales Director Designate for Millwood Designer Homes, comments: “Being the first carbon neutral Housebuilder in the UK we are particularly delighted by the early sales success so soon after the official launch.

It just goes to show that there is a high demand for carbon neutral homes and that purchasers are taking green issues to heart. Moreover, Coppice mews is the perfect illustration that you can be green and stylish at the same time.”

In addition to their carbon neutral status, all homes at Coppice Mews will enjoy meticulous attention to detail and superior specification. The interiors boast fully fitted designer kitchens with the latest appliances and truly sumptuous bathrooms with exquisite white suites that are complemented by chrome fittings.

Royal Tunbridge Wells is a town that offers something for everyone, from families to single professionals alike. Nearby are the famous Pantiles, Royal Victoria Shopping Centre, specialist shops and numerous restaurants.

It also has excellent links to London with direct rail services taking just under one hour and easy access to the A21 leading to the M25 and other motorways links, nearby.

The homes at Coppice Mews are priced from £240,000. For further information contact the Amberley Marketing Suite, open Thursday to Monday (inclusive) from 10am till 5pm on 01892 518833, or visit www.mdh.uk.com
